The Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Awareness Walk is intended to raise the level of awareness for this disease, provide financial support to research efforts, and to pay tribute to those touched by ovarian cancer. DHA donated funds to purchase baskets used in the silent auction fundraiser.

Arts & Health has provided literary, performing, and visual arts programming to Duke University Hospital and its hospital-based clinics since 1978. We believe that access to the arts is essential to the health and well-being of you and your loved ones, as well as our staff, volunteers, and visitors. Our services include activity kits and in-room musical performances.

Arts & Health at Duke is one of the oldest and most comprehensive hospital arts programs in the United States and is a recognized leader in the international arts and health movement.

Families can stay at this “home-away-from-home” and find a comfy bed, a safe place to sleep each night, as well as a home-cooked meal and activities for the kids. The house is located less than 1 mile from Duke Hospital and welcomes 55 families each night!  DHA "adopted a room" and also helps sponsor the Hearts of Gold Gala. Click here for more info:

Angels Among Us is a  celebration of life, strength, courage & commitment. Angels Among Us supports research and finding a cure for brain tumors at The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.  DHA is an annual supporter of this largest and most successful fundraising 5K run & walk event.  Click here for www.angelsamongus.org

The Rainbow of Heroes Walk commemorates and celebrates all Duke PBMT patients and their families. The Walk is not only the main fundraiser for the Duke PBMT Family Support Program, but more than that, it is a reunion for patients, families, nurses, therapists, doctors, volunteers, and supporters who have come to know each other through the months-long transplant process.  Duke Hospital Auxiliary provided Heroes Walk t-shirts for patients and families.

The mission of the Hillandale Golf Course H.E.A.R.T.S. Club is to provide a no cost nurturing golf environment for the children that are patients at the Duke Children’s Hospital Pediatric and Marrow Transplant unit.  This program and all its offerings will be extended to the children’s immediate families and caregivers in order to ease the burden of their immediate journey by understanding the expense and emotional undertaking of fighting a deadly disease. DHA donates to the fundraising golf tournament.

Founded in 1992, Caring House provides comfortable, supportive, and affordable housing to Duke Cancer Institute adult outpatients and their caregivers. It is a 12,900 square foot home that has 18 private rooms, each with a private bath, phone, television, and DVD player. DHA is an annual supporter.

 The ‘Jump for the Children’ Horse Show is one of the largest hunter/jumper shows in North Carolina and a favorite of competitors and spectators alike. Going strong for 41 years, this incredible event has raised more than $3 million for Duke Children’s.
